Worship
Our Sunday morning worship service is held at 10:30 am each Sunday. We offer a traditional format, while also incorporating some contemporary music at the beginning of the service. Musical accompaniment is generally by organ and sometimes piano. A separate 'Children's Church' is offered for children in Kindergarten through 5th grade. A Nursery is available for infants through age 4.
Worship services follow the traditional church calendar (Advent, Lent, etc.). Thus, there are special services throughout the year, such as Ash Wednesday and Thanksgiving Eve. During the season of Advent there are enhanced worship services, and a candlelight Christmas Eve service.
Christian Education
Sunday School meets from 9:30 am to 10:15 am. We offer classes for children through adults. Currently, some classes do not meet weekly. Please see our homepage for available classes and class schedules.
Bible Studies
Bible Study groups meet weekly on Wednesdays. A women's study is offered in the morning. The evening study is a Biblical focused discussion with verse by verse overview and discussion of selected books of the Bible..
Fellowship
We offer fellowship through various forms of planned activities for the congregation. Fellowship activities in the past have included a Sweetheart Banquet, Ladies' ('Daughters of Faith') Tea, Guys' Day Out, Ice Cream Social, Fellowship Meals after church, and family Christmas Meal.
We have a women's fellowship that offers additional opportunities for fellowship..The Women's Fellowship meets on Wednesdays to quilt. They also hold an annual craft bazaar and participate in many mission projects throughout the year. The Women's Fellowship also plans quarterly fellowship meals for all to attend.
Mission & Service
Bush Creek supports our local community and beyond. Efforts we support include: The Greater Urbana Food Bank; Brethren Disaster Ministries (BDM); Brethren Volunteer Service (BVS); Church World Service Blanket Program; Fahrney-Keedy Home & Village; Heifer International; Meat Canning; Mid-Atlantic District Disaster Auction; and Shepherd’s Spring Outdoor Ministries.
Vacation Bible School
Bush Creek Church offers Vacation Bible School each summer. Information is posted to this website and our Facebook page as it becomes available.
Christian Camping
Shepherd's Spring Outdoor Ministry Center is one of two summer camps affiliated with the Mid-Atlantic District Church of the Brethren. Bush Creek Church supports our campers attending Shepherd’s Spring by underwriting a portion of the camper fee.
